Azerbaijan minister of economic development visits Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company

An official delegation led by the Azerbaijan Minister of Economic Development, H.E. Shahin Mustafayev, visited Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec) earlier this week, following the Minister`s participation in the UAE-Azerbaijan joint committee meeting held in Abu Dhabi, according to www.aiminfo.com.

During the visit to Adnec, the Minister and his delegation were taken on a guided tour of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre by Ali Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Adnec Managing Director, accompanied by key members of the Adnec management team.

Expressing his keen interest in ongoing developments at Adnec, the Minister praised the role of the company in building the stature of Abu Dhabi, and the UAE, as a global destination for events.

“I am very impressed with the world class venue that I have seen today. It is obvious that Abu Dhabi has the infrastructure and capabilities to organize all manner of events. I look forward to being back in January 2010 to attend the third World Future Energy Summit at this very same venue,” said Mustafayev, thanking members of the Adnec team for the warm welcome accorded to him and the other members of his delegation.

Expressing his thanks to Mustafayev for the visit, Ali Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Adnec Managing Director said: “It is a great pleasure for Adnec to have hosted H.E. Mustafayev. The expanding ties between the UAE and Azerbaijan encompass many varied spheres of activity.

Recognizing its role as a key institution in the UAE and in Abu Dhabi, Adnec is keen to continue playing a supporting role in seeking and strengthening areas of cooperation with the many nations of the world, in line with the directives of the UAE`s leadership.”

Later, Bin Harmal presented a commemorative memento to the Minister, on behalf of Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of Adnec.

Mustafayev`s official visit to the UAE on December 21- 22 was aimed at furthering UAE-Azeri ties in a number of sectors including trade and investment, tourism, alternative energy and free zones.

The discussions involved a number of key institutions in the UAE. Adnec representatives at this meeting included Mohamed Al Jeaidi, Head of Foreign Affairs at Adnec.
